I've seen it multiple times. I'm still convinced the lake done him in. I'm no doctor nor a boat expert, but I wouldn't think a bang in the back of the head on a wooden canoe, even though it looked like he banged it hard against the starboard side, is enough too kill him. Effectively the only thing that is certain is its a concussion, which led him too be unconscious, then ending up in the lake where it then lead too it being a drowning. A skull fracture maybe, but I think the lake was the cause of death.
