A Moveable Feast is a memento that Harry Mason can find near the beginning of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. This memento is found inside of a cabinet in the Orion Hunting Lodge.
The memento consists of a small hunting knife with a curved handle. There is also an inscription on the handle that reads:
- "All stories end in Death"
The name of the memento is a reference to Ernest Hemingway's book of the same name, which are his memoirs from Paris. He wrote, "If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast."
Symbolism[]
The dagger and its message may refer to the end of the story itself, ending in Cheryl Mason's realization of Harry's death. The poignant message engraved on the handle is further reinforced by the specimens and carcasses in the hunting lodge.
The knife also alludes to the knife that Angela Orosco held in Silent Hill 2.
Additionally, a café can be found in the original Silent Hill named "A Moveable Feast".
