A Winter Beacon is the very first memento that Harry Mason can obtain in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. It is also the only memento whose location can change depending on the player's Psych Profile. The memento can either be found inside of a dartboard in Good Ol' Days or inside of a cupboard behind the counter of Diner 52.
The memento is a snow globe, with a lighthouse and a girl in red within the globe. On the bottom of the snow globe base is a price tag showing the price ($9.93) and a quote from Psalm 104:2:
- "Covering Himself with light as with a cloak. Stretching out the heavens as a curtain".
Symbolism[]
The lighthouse and the girl could possibly symbolize Cheryl Mason and her therapy inside of the Lighthouse Clinic. The lighthouse acts as a guide for both her father and herself, just as it is a guide for boats on the ocean or lakes.
