The Axe is a weapon in Silent Hill, located inside of the ritualistic room in Green Lion Antiques. The axe is a decent weapon despite its short range, with properties similar to the kitchen knife found in Cafe 5to2. Harry Mason can move while keeping the axe ready for an attack and even while swinging the axe. However, the emergency hammer can be located in the game long before the axe, reducing its usefulness.
