The Bookshelf Puzzle is a puzzle found within the Shepherd House in Silent Hill: Homecoming. It is located inside of Alex Shepherd and Joshua Shepherd's room. It must be solved in order to obtain a map of the house. The puzzle involves a set of books, those books must be moved in order to expose a button. Once solved, the bookshelf will swing open to reveal a secret room containing a handmade map of the Shepherd house.
In the Otherworld version of the Shepherd house, the bookshelf is replaced by a fleshy doorway that Alex must cut through with his knife to obtain the Butcher Knife and one of Joshua's photos.

Solution
Solving the puzzle is simple, with no repercussions for mistakes. The object is to move all the books to the left side, one by one in order, until the button on the right side is exposed. Pressing the button will reveal a secret room.
