Treatment of "The"
Is there any rule on how "the" should be treated in listings here on the wiki? Feels odd for the Butcher etc. to be listed under T simply because he is listed with "the". Wanted to check before changing it to the more standard method. -- Shoggoth1890 03:43, May 17, 2011 (UTC)
Autoplay music video.
Well despite my request to have this discussed on the talk page things remain silent. Can I ask why that video is deemed necessary and relevant to the subject matter of this page? SteveZombie (talk) 00:27, August 6, 2013 (UTC)
- It's just a funny little ditty that gives the wiki a touch of heart. I like it. AlessaGillespie Talk Contributions 00:35, August 6, 2013 (UTC)
- It's just for fun, sheesh. You know that Silent Hill is filled with UFO endings, a Dog ending, a blooper reel, a magical girl transformation outfit, monsters speaking Japanese, and various other funny things, eh? Why can't our wiki do the same thing occasionally? Don't take it so seriously, nor the series so seriously either (or else the developers wouldn't insert stuff like this). No one ever said it was "necessary" either. I also notice how you refer to it at "That music". Well, let me tell you, sir, "that music" is the famous Monster Mash, and literally played at every Halloween party in North America, ever! Are you not from North America, or unaware of how popular the song is? —AlexShepherd ツ 00:47, August 6, 2013 (UTC)
- I know what the song is, what does that have to do with my use of the words 'that video'? I could tolerate this if it weren't on autoplay; why should any Wiki have a user trawl through all open tabs just to find a tiny little bar to knock that rubbish off? I am more than well aware of the lighthearted nature of some remote parts of the Silent Hill franchise, but this is a Wiki for God's sake, can't we at least save the jokes for the homepage? Sure I could go and deface every article on the site with my own poor sense of humour, but is it needed? Would it be acceptable? Hell, why not have a whole bunch of songs playing at once and have funny little streamers shooting out of the cursor? I hope you see where I'm going with this; who decides where the line is? Why this category and only this category? SteveZombie (talk) 00:27, August 9, 2013 (UTC)
- Since when did one category with some humor be the equivalent to 2000 articles with humor in them? And it's not a "whole bunch" of songs, it's just one song, nor is it the same as putting flash cursor animations. I knew there was eventually going to be some super serious uptight party pooper anyway. Since the Wikia YouTube wasn't autoplaying it at the correct time, it was already broken so I removed it anyway. It was fun while it lasted though. I know lots of people on Twitter enjoyed and commented on it. —AlexShepherd ツ 01:27, August 9, 2013 (UTC)
