"Chapter 2: BLIGHT" is the second episode of the horror television series Silent Hill: Ascension.

Plot

Hope's Junction, Pennsylvania

At a bar, Toby converse with another bar patron whose partner died at the Steel Mill accident and is tried to recruited into The Foundation by manipulating her grief but fails. The woman suggests Toby to trick Eric into telling him on a major upcoming event. At the laundromat, Toby begs Eric to tell him of the upcoming meeting in Foundation. Initially, he is reluctant but tells him that event will occurred the next night. Satisfied, Toby leaves but is confronted by Joy's apparition who goads him to attack the cult once more. Elsewhere, Rachel decides to do the ritual with Krista much to her surprise.

At the meeting, Rachel preforms the ritual with Krista but is interrupted by Toby who attacks them. The ritual sends everyone in the room except Eric to the Otherworld. Soon, everyone is sent back to reality and shaken at what they had just seen. Toby threatens to expose the Foundation and is escorted off the property. The group debates over what to do with Toby, Rachel has Eric to try reason with him to back him off. Outside, Toby is goaded by Joy's apparition who blames him for the Mill accident. At the bar, Eric attempts to reason Toby into abandoning his crusade against the Foundation but fails, he tries to persuade Eric to leave the cult and believes his family will be affected by them. Elsewhere, Xavier orders Rachel to recruit Toby as he believes Toby can stop The Withering after witnessing it. Rachel expresses doubt about his order but commits to it.

Stilledalen, Norway

At the hospital, Karl appeals to Astrid of his innocence in Ingrid's murder as he knows that she had handed the syringe to Haugen. He asks for her forgiveness and to let the matter behind them but Astrid remains firm on her convictions. Afterwards, Karl talks with his friend Lejo Kant, the owner and bartender of Ice Lounge, Karl confides him about his troubles with Lejo suggesting that he tells his side of the story to the police in an attempt to clear his name.

Back at the farm, Astrid asks Karl to tell her and the police the truth but Karl affirms his innocence. He informs Astrid that he had told Brit of Ingrid's death and tries to ask her to come back for the funeral but fails, Karl asks her to persuade Brit due to their familial bond. However, Astrid tells him that their relationship is strained and doubts of her ability to bring her back home but is willing to try for him. In the station, Karl is interrogated by Haugen who tells him that there are puncture marks on Ingrid's body. Karl tells Haugen his side of the story but is dismissed as mere tales. Shortly after, Haugen is handed the autopsy which states that Ingrid dies from complications with her illness and Karl is acquitted. At the farm, Karl is approached by Eva who asks him to teach her how to use guns. Initially, he is reluctant but decides to teach Eva. Later, Karl meets Ingrid's sister and his old flame Mette Dahl.

Outside, Astrid calls Brit who she tries to persuade to come back to Stilledalen for the funeral. Brit rejects, owing to her experience at the farm and how she copes with the abuse by drugs and alcohol. During her call, Orson wanders off and Astrid finds herself in the Otherworld. Soon, she finds herself back at reality and reunites with Orson who is found by a stranger. Noticed at Astrid's lack of situational awareness, the stranger had called Child Services beforehand. Later, Astrid meets Aurora who is a representative from Child Services and is interested in helping her family and plans to arrange more meetings.
