The Instant Camera is an item Heather Mason discovers in Silent Hill 3. It is found inside a locked briefcase in room M4 of Brookhaven Hospital. The camera is needed to take a photo of a part of the bloodied wall located in the basement storage room that cannot be seen due to it being obstructed by a large shelf.
When developed, the photo will reveal a four-digit code inscribed in blood. The four-digit number is random for every game, and is needed to unlock the door to enter the 3rd floor patient wing and progress with the story. It is very similar in design and purpose to the camera from the original Silent Hill.
