Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, also known as Melissa Williamson, is an American voice actress, ADR director, writer, and singer best known for her extensive English-language dubbing of various video games and anime, her singing in the Silent Hill series, and Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME.
McGlynn has also had several movie roles throughout her career and is currently married to Steve Blum. McGlynn was formerly a counselor at the Interlochen Arts Camp in Intelochen, Michigan.
Silent Hill series[]
McGlynn has provided vocals for the soundtrack of every game in the Silent Hill series since Silent Hill 3. McGlynn has frequently worked with Akira Yamaoka and Joe Romersa. Her favorite Silent Hill song is Room of Angel.
McGlynn has also provided vocals for some tracks in the film adaptation of Silent Hill.
Following Yamaoka's departure from Konami, McGlynn confirmed that she would not be returning to make music for the soundtrack in Silent Hill: Downpour and would instead work with Yamaoka on other projects, like the third person shooter game Shadows of the Damned; however, it was later announced that McGlynn worked with Downpour's composer Daniel Licht on the soundtrack of the game. She provided some background vocals on the tracks "Intro Perp Walk" and "Bus to Nowhere".
In 2011, Mary was asked by Konami to direct the voice acting for Silent Hill HD Collection due to James's original voice actor requesting residuals for ports and re-releases of Silent Hill 2. For the re-dub, Mary approached Troy Baker to voice James. She voiced the characters Mary and Maria, as well as the confessor.
She voiced Cybil Bennett in the joke ending of Silent Hill: Book of Memories.
