Matthew is the boyfriend of Lisa Garland, and the main protagonist of Silent Hill: Cage of Cradle.

At some point, Matthew lived in Silent Hill, Maine with his girlfriend Lisa Garland. Later in his life, he was warned of unknown events by a group of people and he returned home to discover it ransacked with the words "A wise person gives good counsel" written on the walls.
He was killed by Valtiel when the town was transfigured by Alessa Gillespie's nightmares.

- Matthew is somewhat of a lost protagonist, having only made a appearance in the lost comic books of Hiroyuki Owaku and Masahiro Ito.
- It is unknown when Matthew and Lisa become a couple, possibly before Silent Hill: Origins.
