Omamori[note 1] (お守り, Omamori) are a gameplay feature in Silent Hill ƒ. They are items that can be equipped to the player character to enhance her abilities, such as granting additional health, stamina, and increasing the amount of damage inflicted on A.I. opponents.[1][2]
There are 40 omamori in the game, 17 of which can be found by exploring the environments. The remaining 23 are generated at save points known as hokoras by spending in-game currency.[3][4] An additional omamori was included as a preorder incentive, bringing the total to 41.[5]
The term omamori refers to a type of Japanese amulet particular to Shinto and Buddhism, believed to bestow luck and protection onto an individual.[6][7]
