The Pickaxe of Hope is an item found near the end of Silent Hill 4: The Room. It is the counterpart to the Pickaxe of Despair, however, it is used as an item and not a weapon. The item is found embedded in the back of Room 302 of the Past and is used in the same spot at the current Room 302. It opens a hole which reveals a secret room, containing several blood filled refrigerators and the corpse of Walter Sullivan on a cross, with an umbilical cord hanging around his body.
