Chapter 1: FOG
Harry Mason awakens after his car veers off the road and crashes. He recollects how the crash happened and notices his daughter, Cheryl Mason, is missing. Fearing she had gone to find help by herself and letting his mind assume the worst, he sets out to look for her in the unusually foggy town of Silent Hill.
Chapter 2: DARKNESS
Chapter 3: NIGHTMARE
- Harry is noticeably injured after the car crash in the novel, limping with a gait and showing a gash on his head that causes him to bleed. The game has no mention of this.
- Jodie Mason dies in a car crash, whereas the game implies an illness to be the cause of death.
