Stanley-wait what[]
IT'S NOT STANLEY. This is an old fan theory, one that has been utterly disproven. Surely we're all past this by now! I can't just erase a line or two and make this article accurate again. It will have to be completely rewritten from scratch; or the Hard difficulty part, that is. Can we start to fix this problem? It's embarassing that people might see this and take it as fact. I'm going to have a look into this tonight because I have a striking suspicion PrototypeC is correct. If I remember correctly the memo for the Keypad is separate from Stanley's Diary and is instead just a pinup on a blackboard near the door. I could be wrong, but I vaguely remember that. Also digging around in the diary I spotted this:
"If the door's locked, open it.
Use the password for the prison gates.
Doctor... I've forgotten his name.
Anyway, that quack has it posted."

- I checked, you're right, it is a "typewritten memo" poster on the wall. If that diary entry is referring to this puzzle, it could still be explained that the doctor was the one who posted it, not necessarily wrote it. Lots of people assume it's Stanley because he's the one being a creeper to Heather, writing in poetry, etc. And the speaker comments about "blue" eyes, but if you remember, Alessa had blue eyes. I'm still waiting to hear Prototype's comments about how it's "disproven", and also, the entire section does not need to be "completely rewritten from scratch", all it would take is changing "Stanley" to "he". —AlexShepherd ツ 14:53, April 3, 2013 (UTC)
It's like every time I post it's taken personally. Unless you wrote this section yourself (as if it was Stanley), you're reading my comments with a lot of anger I didn't intend. It's a good thing I checked back here or I would have missed this entirely. I just put in caps so people would see it. I honestly didn't expect that anyone would have an issue with me saying so and would change it immediately, but I should provide more explanation.
Firstly, it doesn't follow Stanley's usual style, it being without his signature at the bottom, the doll nearby or being addressed to Heather (he seems to love using her name as often as possible). It seems like it's written in present tense instead of being intended to be read, even though it refers to a "you". It refers to "kisses, so many of them I've lost count" (only in the weirdest slash fanfiction have Stanley and Heather ever even met). And, um, Alessa's eyes are dark, and so are Heather's; same as their hair being black. I'm confused why you said that, because even on this wiki it says their eyes are brown. The reason it would be a chore to rewrite the section is because it also assumes the woman in the poem is Heather. I'm not sure why the poem has to be attributed to anyone in the Hospital. It could be one of those bizarre, out-of-place notes replacing the original code memo through the town's tricky tricks, or maybe a sick joke on the part of the "quack doctor".
The point is, if there's even the shadow of a doubt, by any of us, isn't it better to err on the side of caution and just say it MIGHT be written by Stanley, as some sort of messed-up dream he had or something, rather than stating that Stanley wrote it as unequivocal, unarguable fact? - The Stanley thing was written by someone else, I just went along with it and helped clarify the solution. Who knows, maybe the Book of Lost Memories, or the SH3 strategy guide, or somewhere else confirmed it was Stanley. If not, people make mistakes and sometimes they assume things. After all, if you do the Stanley sidequest, he's on the back of the player's mind all the time, so it would be natural for a player to assume the writer was Stanley. It's a part of life and wikis. No big deal. And to me, you sounded really pissed off, but that's besides the point so let's drop it.
- You do have a point though, there's currently no concrete evidence that it's Stanley. However, there's no concrete evidence that it isn't Stanley either. In fact, the poem could even be written from a woman to a man. In Origins, Alessa has blue eyes, and Dahlia in SH1 has blue eyes, so it's up to debate. So I guess the best solution would be to just take out the Stanley/Heather references, and try not to use gender, just the "speaker/narrator/whatever". If you want to help the wiki with that, go right ahead. I still think it's worth noting that it could be addressed from Stanley to Heather though. —AlexShepherd ツ 06:02, April 27, 2013 (UTC)
