I think it might be worth mentioning the creatures you find in the Hotel. Roaming the malls and openings are small ant-like creatures. The enemies you find are Needler (Spider-like enemies) and the Swarm (Bug-like enemies). Although these represent Alex's demons, they're also the types of creatures you would find in the dirt of your garden. This is Mayor Barlet's location, so that might not just be a coinsidence. You also encounter two nurses in there, who may represent both Barlet's wife and the woman with which he had his affair.
