I figured it was a better idea to use the Wikipedia page on Maria, since what was written beforehand was already on Wikipedia, but in far greater detail - However, I think a lot more deep information about Maria should be posted here if possible (eg, links to theories about Maria and such on sites like GameFAQs, Silent Hill Forums, etc). That goes for all Wikipedia-copied pages too.

Antagonist[]
I really don't see where Maria could be considered an antagonist at all, yet alone the main antagonist, considering what she is. Really, the only antagonist in SH2 is James, whose actions created Maria as well as the monsters he confronts. AlessaGillespie 06:13, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

- Three years late, but I feel I should explain anyway. The resemblance between Maria and Aguilera is in clothing only. Christina Aguilera similarities[]
A debate seems to have arisen over whether a note as to Maria's similarities to Christina Aguilera should be mentioned in the Trivia section. The text is as follows: There seems to be a possibility Maria was visually designed after Christina Aguilera during the 1999 Teen Choice Awards. Aguilera's middle name is also Maria; however, this is just a coincidence.
Included here is a side by side comparison of Maria and Christina. Debate on this subject must be kept civil, and users are not allowed to further edit that section of the article until a decision is reached. Voting will be open for one week from today. Okay, so I know this was in a poll a while ago as a joke, but does anyone else think it would be a good idea to add a Maria/Catherine comparison to Trivia? (I speak of the Catherine from the puzzle/horror game, Catherine).
- They both have blonde hair and blue eyes
- They are both sexually extroverted and wear revealing clothing
- They both pursue the protagonist as a love interest
- They both turn into a monster at one point in the game
- They are both partially real, but other people can't see them
- They are both manifestations based off of the protagonist's lover
The protagonist of both games is voiced by Troy Baker (well, James in collection...)
Lots of resemblances! Even though it's probably just a coincidence, I still think it'd be interested to put in her Trivia section. :3
