The Villa is a dilapidated apartment complex where the events of Silent Hill: The Short Message take place. It is located in the fictional town of Kettenstadt, Germany.
History[]
Following the abandonment of the Villa after its management company declared bankruptcy, the apartment complex fell into great disrepair. Once it was uninhabited, it became a very popular hot spot for graffiti artists, among them a popular young girl named Maya Hinderburg, known locally for conveying the struggles of teenage girls through her art.
Eventually, the place became notorious as a suicide spot for youths among the economically downtrodden Kettenstadt, the popular method being to jump from the roof to one's demise. Artist Maya would become one of its latest victims, following her suicide after relentless hate-campaign and bullying from her peers. Two murals are constructed at the base of the building and at the rooftop where Maya's final artwork laid.
Six months later, Anita, one of Maya's close friends, is lured back into the building, where she uncovers details about her friend's death, as well as traumas of her own past.
