I personally have no interest in stuff like that or the elitist culture that always tends to spring up around this kind of stuff, but there's no reason they shouldn't have done it. More options are always good for players. Personally, I'm still waiting for the game that flips the script and only gives you the best items or best endings by playing on the easiest difficulty settings.
I like achievements and stuff like that, personally, so I’m not against it. Plus, unlocking bonus weapons is cool. Bob, about giving easiest levels the best stuff: wouldn’t that lose motivation to continue playing? If you unlocked the best parts first, what’s next?
Enjoying the game, for one. I still play lots of games that I've beaten fairly thoroughly because I just like to play them. Besides, if you're the kind of person who needs to play on easy mode, doesn't it make more sense to give them the best items to compensate for their lack of skill in the first place?
I wish Homecoming had stars. As far as I know, the only things that affect endings or results are shooting or not shooting the mom, forgiving or not forgiving the dad, and saving Wheeler (or not).
