Takayoshi "Usagi" Tanaka (田中 孝佳, Tanaka Takayoshi) is an art director and designer. He is best known for being the creator of Robbie the Rabbit.
Biography[]
Usagi Tanaka was born in 1975 in Tokyo, Japan. In 1997 he graduated from the information processing department of the Tokyo Computer College.[1] The same year, he joined Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo where he worked as an art director, 3D artist and designer. He was involved in Silent Hill, Dance Dance Revolution, Contra, Zone of the Enders and Metal Gear series.[2]
In 2012, he left Konami to join GREE, Inc. as lead artist and art director. In 2013, he worked on the episode title animation for Killer is Dead.[2]
In 2015, he joined COLOPL Inc. to work as art director, 3D artist and designer.
Currently, he works as art director for REALITY Inc, a company focused on virtual reality. He has also designed characters for VTubers.[3][4][5][6]
Trivia[]
- Usagi Tanaka designed promotional posters and official wallpapers for Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4: The Room. He still keeps the Robbie the Rabbit figure he used back then for the photos. According to Tanaka, the figure was damaged several times and ended up with a broken arm.[7]
